Do you know that the surname KOLBECK
means farmer near the cool stream?
This name has a tradition counting more than thousand years.
Greetings from
Phillips University of Marburg, Germany.

Dan, I would like to wish you and all the other Kolbecks coming togehter during the Reunion a very nice next weekend. Please put forward my best wishes to all of yours.
Last Year I have been in USA for 2 weeks for business reasons (Danbury, CT and Miami, FL)
This year, I will stay in USA for 2-3 weeks on October out off private reasons . I am going to visit my girl friend, who will be doing her studies (English and American Culture and Literature) at the American University in Washington D.C. from august 18th to christmas 2000. Maybe it would be possible to combine my trip to Washington with a visit at some of yours in South Dakota ? What do you think about this? I would be very happy to meet my american relationship ...
What do you think about building a worldwide "Kolbeck database"? With this we could provide information for a worldwide kolbeck network, may be also for organizing an international Reunion ...
With Best Greetings from Germany Mit freundlichen Grüßen / Kind Regards

Hello! I was very surprised to find your Homepage. I knew that a lot of "Kolbecks" live in the USA because my Father (Aloys Kolbeck) worked there. But I think you know this Story, I read the e-mail, my cousin Felix wrote. I', 18 years and live in a very small town in Nordrhein Westfalen.

Hello Ken,
Could it be that you mean "Steinfeld", and not "Stienfeld" (as you wrote it)? I'm because Steinfeld is located exactely in the same region where my relationship comes from. This Area is called "Süd-Oldenburg" and includes small towns like Vechta and Cloppenburg (where "my" Kolbeck are living) and Steinfeld (where your realtionship seems to come from).
I think in this case we would have the same roots ... interesting! I will try to find out here, whether we know something about Kolbecks coming from Steinfeld ans now living in South Dakota. Hope that we will stay in contact

Hi Dan,
I was really surprised about your
e-mail, because i didn't know that the name
Kolbeck is so common in the USA. In my birthplace (Steinfeld i. Oldb., Germany)
and in the vicinity there are quite a lot of Kolbecks.
It is also very interesting that
there is an internet site regarding the family name
Kolbeck. So i have a new private link to it and i will join sometimes.
Best regards,
Dietmar

Hi I`ve not thought, that so many
Kolbecks live in the States. It would be very
nice to meet you all in July, but it is to far. Here in Germany there are
hundreds of
Kolbecks. My family self has its roots in Bavaria. The most of them have been
farmer. Today my Father and his wife live in Chemnitz, also my Brother and
his wife.
Me, my husband and our the children (9, 11, 21) are at home in Berlin.
Really best regards and a very good party wishes

Hello Kolbecks, I was quite surprised
and happy after getting an e-mail about
the kolbecks.com homepage.
We are many Kolbecks in Germany,
nevertheless I'm not sure we are related to
you Kolbecks in US. Most of the Kolbecks in Germany are located in the district
lower saxony, there in the farming region of Cloppenburg and Vechta. My Grandma
(Rosa Kolbeck), visited some Kolbecks in US in about 1977 together with one
of
my uncles (Aloys Kolbeck), who hs been working for GM in the 1970ths.
I'm 32 years old and living in
Hannover, which is the very nice capital of lower
saxony and - as you might know - the EXPO 2000. So if you would like to visit
the
famous world exhibition here (starting 1st of june), contact me and I would
give you
details and help!
I would be glad to get some information
of you, where you Kolbecks came
from. Seeing your pictures I found out that some of yours are looking quite
similar to
my relationship.
Best Greetings from the german
Kolbecks
